July 2010

4th of July took us to Lake Tahoe. What a beautiful place to be any time of year! We love it there, but we never have been for the 4th-so it was an easy excuse to meet my brother & his cute family from CA to celebrate our country's birthday!

Chase loves strawberries and nothings better than fresh fruit from CA! As you can see Chase couldn't get enough of them :)

Our lil' punkins enjoying time together which they never get near enough of....why is it so hard to get together???

This was our spot to watch the fireworks over the lake....

Chase riding his bike any chance he got....which means 25 trips to the bathroom per day

What else would Wright's do.....eat & play cards. Poor Nat thinking it was cold or something...

I love trees, and especially the humongous pines that surround Lake Tahoe....such a pretty campground.

We joked that the whole campground had festivities like a family reunion but this one was hilarious. They actually had a horse-shoe tournament where people(mostly men) were seriously contending for their name to be on the trophy. I'm not joking when I say people seriously go to this campground to compete in this tournament....oh yes, Ben & Chad had their go at the silver cup.

This was our view from where we watched the fireworks...you could actually see 5 different shows across the lake. Very memorable 4th :)

Of course Bear, our newest family addition had to make the trip as well....poor thing we're still brushing pine sap out of his hair. He is 10 months old already, but did very well and got lots of questions and compliments.

Part of the amenities they had at the campground. This one is not recommended unless you are old enough to walk, and young enough to not get a concussion. They also had a swimming pool, arcade, ping pong tables, basketball court, tennis, above mentioned horse shoe pits, a bike parade, ice cream social, doggie parade, movie night etc etc.

Our next adventure took us to the cabin with the Marrott side. I can't remember if Chase is waving or saying no more pictures. I was having camera issues again so when I finally get a new one I get a little excited. Nothing beats a cute boy ready to ride 4 wheelers.

Grandpa wanted to get the boat out and take it to Schofield fishing...Chase was more than ready to fish all day.....

Tyler's kids love to wrestle and Chase loves that he can wrestle with someone besides Daddy. He has a mean choke hold & have no doubts he takes after his dad on this one.

Pretending to drive...little did he know we were anchored down.

Only a few brave ones wanted to get in. It took your breath away for a second, but then felt really nice. Chase wanted back in the boat immediately, but Mitchell & Cole were the fun ones jumping off the boat with me.

Spiderman swimsuit must have been a good luck charm cuz Chase caught the 1st fish! Scooby doo pole works after all. He was so excited.
Two little partners is crime....what you might not be able to see is the cheesy lips & fingers. Chase loves all of his cousins soo much and can't wait for more time with them all this summer!

My Little Sunshine

I sure love this boy! What would I do without family??

Chase loves helping me with anything (which I'm SURE will change when he gets older...but for now I love it!) So we were folding socks one day & he decided to try them on. The one on his right foot is my sock...the one on his left Chads. Sad isn't it that mine almost fit him :) Chad's looks like he is wearing a cast!

Look at that smile!! :) I should have posted alot more hunting pictures but Chase loves it when daddy comes home with fresh "meat". Chase wasn't afraid of the dead birds at all...he helped pluck each of them. The ones on the right are chukars which are very tender white meat birds...tastes just like chicken but a little more moist. The others in this picture are ducks which I do NOT eat & not shown are geese which are also not edible....to me.

This is Chase's 'dogcatcher' and fireman hat. He has such a funny imagination I have no choice but to play along as the dog and get put in my 'kennel'.

Chase loves sleepover's at papa's house! Just a few random pictures from the last several months....we are just waiting for warmer weather to finish up our yard & go CAMPING!!!

Baby Rylee, San Antonio & Easter

We were so excited to head for warmer weather for Spring Break! What perfect timing to go see Trish & her new baby Rylee! I could NOT stop kissing her cheeks-but can you blame me??

We got to Texas right before Easter...which means late night trips to several stores in search of plastic eggs to fill....I still can't believe we had to rummage through the return carts in customer service to find a few....luckily they were eggs for boys!

Chase was so funny to watch find eggs...and funny to watch him NOT find eggs....as seen here running past the book in the tree.

Baby Rylee scored her own little prizes in the easter egg hunt. Cute first easter Rylee!

Spring in Texas brings lots of blue bonnets...and people parked all along the freeways taking pictures!! We & by we I mean Michael thought that would be a great photo opportunity! Chase loves being outside at any time or any place so he was willing to cheese it up!

This is Chase squeezing us to pieces!!

I really wanted to lay down in them for some reason...

Can't resist a pic with the sis!

Just incase anyone wanted to see them close up

Downtown San Antonio at night...we didn't get a picture of the riverwalk in the dark....but the Alamo was all lit up!

The night we went downtown we ate at this Mexican resteraunt & bakery. For some reason the line for the bakery was longer than the wait at the resteraunt so we decided we HAD to try some of their mexican treats. I asked the guy what was the best and he gave me this:

The orange goop is pumpkin candy. It is not a picture of Rylee's diaper. The guy said this is a must have & as we ate it and threw it up in the parking lot it really was a must have....not for the taste of it...but for the gut busting laugh we got out of it. The pink/white cookie was Chase's pick that he just HAD to have....he took one bite of it and said. "I don't yike it Mommy". Which makes me really glad because I'm sure he'd have diabetes by the last bite if he ate the whole thing.

We got in a little pool time as well while we were there....the water was unfortutely not heated so we swam a little and played alot.

What would a trip to San Antonio be like without a visit or two to Sea World. Chase was definitely more interested in the shows this year than the last time we went & kept asking to see more animals!

Because of the last Killer Whale/trainer encounter in the news recently the trainers are no longer allowed in the water with whales. Which really makes for a less exciting show. They are still huge remarkable animals but definitely not our favorite.

The difference between being in the water with the whales....this is a beluga whale and really fun entertaining show with divers and dolphins and all sorts of fun & exciting things. You can't look away for a minute or you WILL miss something.

Sea Lions. Definitely our favorite show. They are so fun to watch "walk" and "talk" and smooth in and out of the water. Crazy that their eyes are the same color as their skin.

Look out baby Rylee....Chase is giving you a kiss attack! Famous at our house. He loved Loved LOVED baby Ry-ree (as he says it).

What? Another picture with Chase & Baby Rylee? He got more pictures with her than I did! Chase especially loved to hold Baby Rylee when she had the hiccups....which was almost every time she ate. He thought it was soooo funny!! He will be a great big brother someday!

Chase & Rylee enjoying the mobile. Chase has always been fascinated with these, and still occasionally gets his own out of the closet to hear the 'baby music'. We had such a great time with Mike & Trish & their new little addition! The Rock Band was reunited for a week and we got in lots of card playing. Chad & Mike went on a hog hunt but were unable to find the hog they wounded so no pic of that. The only regrets are no pictures of the Blue Bell ice cream and Rudy's bbq feast! Until next time & their will be a next time....God Bless Texas!!!

The Big 3!!!

Our Mr. Chase turned 3 years old this week! He had been looking forward to his birthday since Christmas, so we tried to make it an extra special day for him!!

Chase loved the party favors.....

He is definitely a loved little boy....thank you to grandma's and cousins for all the fun presents!!!

There were 2 things Chase wanted for his birthday. #1 Spiderman cake! He insisted on this pretty much since last fall. And #2-his papa to come to his house for his party. I kept asking him if we could invite other friends and family....but he kept saying "only Papa" "just Papa". I'm so glad my Dad was able to come stay, it really made Chase's birthday special!! Even though it wasn't near long enough for this birthday boy. He was hysterical the whole next day when after he left! He LOVES his Papa! Here's to a year of terrible 3's....since I hear 3's are worse than 2's!!!

Christmas 2009

Well I guess its about time I blogged about our holidays. Unfortunately I have had plenty of time this week to do it....just haven't wanted to. Christmas was great! It was so fun to see Chase Christmas morning....and even now he thinks all of his toys...(even ones he had before Christmas) came from Santa. Santa Claus really did well for our little guy....he loves ALL of his new toys he received from cousins & St. Nick. He plays with them constantly....just moves from one thing to another!
This was the race track Chase asked Santa for. It must have been a hit for some of the older cousins to play with it too!

Chase loves to play with his Mr. Potato Head family! There was so much stuff it wouldn't all fit in the stocking....what a spoiled 2 year old!

This has been one of Chase's favorite things he HAS to play every day. Hunting Toys!!! He loves to shoot any animal and drive with his 'brother' on their 4-wheelers. Chase was really worried that Santa wouldn't fit down our chimney. It is basically just a stove pipe. He was really wanting to go to 'papa's house where the chimney was big enough for Santa. Where do they come up with these things???

Chase is a huge fan of Toy Story. I thought it was so cute he had to sleep by Buzz & Woody. I'm thinking of writing Chase on the other foot that doesn't have Andy on it already.

After Christmas my mom & sisters were throwing a baby shower for my sister Trish who is due in March! So Chad & Chase had to find other plans for the day. I can't remember the name of the place they went to up by Logan where there were lots of elk.
I think it was a little chilly....but they had a great time! Chase is such a daddy's boy, he loves being with his daddy outside any time any where. Nothing makes me more happy than these 2 boys!

Chase had so much cousin time I think it was hard to come home to just mom & dad. Chase loves all of his cousins so much and talks about them all the time! Mitchell, Cole & Parker with their daddy Tyler got to go along for the ride to see the elk. They are all elk-lovers!

Chase loves to be outside! He LOVES the snow and he LOVED going tubing/sledding with his 'papa and cousins! For some reason I didn't get pictures on the day with the snowmobile.

Chase & a few cousins about to sled down the hill. It just isn't the same without a big push from grandpa! Carson.....where are your legs???

New Year's Eve is always a big party at the Wright's house. I'm sure the neighbors get sick of the horn blowing, car honking, pots banging...but we had fun playing games until the wee hours of the morning!!

Happy 2010!!!

We had a great time with family & friends....it just seems like the time goes by way too fast when you're having fun! We loved seeing almost ALL our family members, at one point or another! Chad & I celebrated our anniversary a week after New Year's.....5 Big Years! We have a lot to be grateful for!
